A little about me, I am currently living in Grand Forks, ND working full-time at a telecommunications company to save up to move to San Francisco. I received my B.B.A. degree in Entrepreneurship with a focus in Marketing from the University of North Dakota in May of 09'.
Starting in the fall of 08', I began working to create a solution to a problem within the bicycle industry. The problem identified was bike theft, to address this problem I assembled a team to create a tracking and recovery network. The product/service will allow you to track your bike and if it is stolen collaborate with law enforcement for the safe return. From this experience I was able to learn a great deal about what it takes to bring an idea to reality. After working on the venture for over a year I parted ways as a result of personal problems with the individual I took on as my business partner. One of our main disagreements was that I would have to continue living in Grand Forks, ND for an additional two to three years. I am not prepared to spend that amount of time living in a town that I do not enjoy, although I have been lucky enough to have met some great individuals. I also learned the hard lesson of why I was always advised to avoid going into business with friends. The BIKETRAKR product is still moving forward and one of the developers of the LoJack ( http://www.lojack.com/ ) product/network is currently working on the prototyping.
As for strengths, I am good at finding/creating solutions to problems, communicating new concepts and generating excitement and am always eager to learn new skills that I feel will help me grow. The type of work I am ideally seeking involves marketing using search engine optimization (SEO), social media networks and using other resources to build a strong online brand. After spending over a year working on a start-up venture, I would love to work with a start-up or newly established venture.
